The Timbers Wed Feb 16th 7-30PM @ The Promethean The Timbers are a high energy four-piece with driving rhythms that will take you over, as they propel you in fast forward to the gritty edges of roots, folk, and gypsy punk. Their explosive start in the Adelaide music scene is worthy recognition of this bands ability to marry exceptional musicianship with highly accomplished songwriting.
Dexter Jones Wed Feb 16th 9-30PM Rocket Bar. Dexter Jones is a four piece indie rock act from Adelaide, Australia. Their indie pop rock sound is derived from a wide range of musical styles. The band has chosen not to follow any one system or philosophy in their song writing. Dexter Jones like their big harmonies, catchy riffs and sing-along choruses.
Radio Spectacular Thurs Feb 17th 8-45PM @ Uni Bar The dynamic duo like to have fun and their personalities come across in their upbeat electro-pop tunes. In 2009, the band’s song ‘You Light Me Up’ was chosen to represent Canon’s IXUS cameras, blasting Radio Spectacular!!! into the homes of millions. The band records all their material in their spare-room studio and their latest offering Sugar Baby, Honey Child is now out.
Stranger Side Thurs Feb 17th 10PM @ Crown & Anchor. Stranger Side play “a tough breed of rock ‘n’ roll music mixed with infectious melodies, tasty guitar riffs and daringly truthful lyrics”. After forming in 2009 they have been gigging endlessly in venues all around Adelaide from local bars down the road to prime Adelaide venues in the heart of the city.
Roymackonkey Fri Feb 18th 7-30PM @18th Wheatsheaf Hotel Roymackonkey, rock band from Darwin have been entertaining audiences with their magnetic presence and hard hitting songs for 13 years! Their music is “art, it’s heavy, it’s big, it’s rock” and they are playing “live and acoustic” as part of the Fuse Festival 2011.
